Christmas Paper Garland

An easy Christmas decoration using just red and green card…and a sewing machine.

Paper GarlandI drew some holly leaves  on some green card in various sizes and cut them out.  I also cut out some circles in red card as berries.

Then I fed the holly leaves through my sewing machine, using a berry to join two or more leaves together.  I didn’t use a pattern I just mixed up the sizes randomly as I fed them through the machine.Paper Garland1

I left a long tail or thread at the start and end of the garland to use to hang it up.  The finish result is very Christmassy, although this will not be the sturdyist garland ever!

How To Make Stamps From Foam and Cardboard

I’ve seen stuff about making stamps from foam by attaching it to wooden blocks.  I don’t understand why these people have some many wooden blocks just lying around their homes, maybe I will one day…anyway I opted to use cardboard instead.

I had some thick cardboard and I cut it into 4 pieces which turned out to be around 6 x 7.5cm and glued them on top of each other to make a cardboard block I could hold easily.

I cut some strips of foam out and glued them onto the cardboard block- half horizontally and half vertically. And that’s the stamp.  I made some others with arrows, hearts, and holly.

To ink up the stamp you dab the ink pad onto the stamp and not the other way around.  You should also store your ink pad upside down to stop it from drying out.

Guitar Themed Birthday Card

I found an image of a guitar birthday card on pinterest, and since boyfriend has been learning to play the guitar and he has birthdays I thought I make him one. I changed the card a lot though because he is playing an electric guitar and it looks totally different from the one I found on pinterest.  Also it turns out that I have every colour of card and paper apart from black and not enough time to go and buy anymore.

Guitar Card

I cut out the shape of the guitar in white paper and then stuck that onto my card, I added the detail in brown, and then cut 6 ‘strings’ out of silver thread and glued them in place.  I mulled over the stick* that the strings go over but decided not to have it sticking out of the top of the card.  I stole one of boyfriends picks and wrote ‘YOU ROCK!’ on it, which was the one thing I kept from the original image because I like a good pun.

How To Make An Easy Father’s Day Card

Here is how to make a super easy father’s day card using photographs. All you need is some photographs, card, scissors, and glue.  If you are using digital photos you will need to print them out.

How To Make A Father's Day CardFirst I printed out the word DAD is a large clear font onto plain paper and cut out the outline.

Then I found three pictures of my dad on my computer and lined them up in a word document and printed them out on nice glossy photo paper.   The reason I placed them in a word doc first is so that I could make them all the same size.  I used three images, one for each letter of the word DAD- so I needed to make sure my photos were the same size as each other and the letters I had already printed .How To Make A Father's Day Card

Then I placed the first letter onto the first word and cut around the letter.  You need to keep booth pieces of paper still while you do this which can be a little tricky.  Do the same for the other two letters.

How To Make A Father's Day CardThen I got my card and folded it in half .  Then I took the images (now cut into letters) and glued them to my card.

Ta da!
